The products that we mostly suggest for public parks are either the cubes, split edge tiles, or flagstones.

  • The cubes can be irregular in shape and we would install in overlapping arches.
  • On the other hand, the cubes can also have a regular size of 4”x4” so that we would install them in straight staggered lines.
  • The tiles can be the same width or alternated different widths.
  • Flagstones also called Irregular slabs are also commonly used for walkways and through the green or more rustic areas.

It is always important to make sure the borders of the areas are well fixed with mortar. For this reason, we suggest to use an orthogonal line of tiles or binders.

In Parks, with drypack and liquid grout installation, we recommend thickness 2″ (with a nominal variation from 1 ½” to 2 ½”). Porphyry stone is very strong (the compression strength of porphyry stone is above 30.000 psi), which is plenty enough for the average type and quantity of traffic in these areas.
